Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov said on Sunday that Russia is ready to resume trilateral negotiations with the United States and Ukraine after November 4.
Ushakov said the planned trilateral talks would be merely preliminary, expert-level contacts and that expectations should not be set too high. Significant effort would still be required from all sides before a peace agreement on the Ukraine issue could be reached, he said.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed on the same day that the United States, Russia, and Ukraine plan to hold trilateral technical-level working talks in November.
The involved parties are currently still discussing the location for the talks; potential venues include Abu Dhabi in the UAE, other parts of the Middle East, and cities in Europe.
Zelensky said that these talks are working-level consultations intended to pave the way for future higher-level dialogue between the heads of state, with discussions focusing primarily on energy infrastructure and a ceasefire in the Black Sea region.
US President Donald Trump also said on Sunday that the trilateral talks regarding the Ukraine issue would take place soon, though he did not disclose a specific schedule.
Trump remarked that he believes both Russia and Ukraine are willing to reach an agreement.
